Crayon in picture added for size reference. I’m the one who’s complaining. My nearly 4-year-old granddaughter actually loves these blocks and she played with them for hours when they arrived. To my surprise, she actually attempted to use the enclosed “instructions” on her own and was fairly successful.I like the wooden box to keep them neatly organized when they’re not being used. I also like the cylinders and half-cylinders that can be used to demonstrate simple machines like fulcrums. I don’t like that they’re so small. Kids tend to respond better to slightly larger building blocks. I like that they’re made of hardwood and some are painted bright colors. My preference would be for all the blocks to be painted, but I’m sure there’s something in the Montessori Methodology as to why they’re not.Overall they were a good investment for my grandchildren and would be great for a classroom. Manipulative play is great for hand-eye coordination, following the directions on the enclosed idea sheet helps with sequencing. Then there’s also basic physics, creative play, the list goes on and on.
